Current situation of LED product exports

2026-04-30

With the in-depth advancement of global economic integration, the export scale of China's LED products continues to expand, and China has become the world's major producer and exporter of LED products. Products are exported to many countries and regions such as Europe, America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, covering lighting, display, backlight and other categories. In recent years, the export of China's LED products has shown a steady growth trend. With high cost performance, mature technology and improved supply chain system, it occupies an important position in the global market, but at the same time, it also faces many challenges such as tariff barriers, technical barriers and increased market competition.

At present, the main challenges facing the export of China's LED products include: first, some countries and regions have introduced trade protection policies and imposed additional tariffs, increasing the export cost of products; second, developed countries such as Europe and the United States have continuously raised technical and environmental requirements for LED products, such as the EU's RoHS directive and the United States' ENERGY STAR certification, raising the threshold for product export; third, the global LED market competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Enterprises from South Korea, Japan and other countries, with technological advantages, compete fiercely with Chinese enterprises, and local enterprises in emerging market countries are also gradually rising, further squeezing the market space of Chinese products.

In response to the above challenges, China's LED enterprises should adopt active overseas market expansion strategies: first, strengthen R&D, improve product quality and technical level, meet the technical and environmental requirements of the international market, and break through technical barriers; second, optimize the product structure, increase the export proportion of high-value-added products, and get rid of the dependence on mid-to-low-end products; third, expand diversified overseas markets, while consolidating the mature European and American markets, focus on developing emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and reduce the risk of a single market; fourth, strengthen overseas localized layout, establish production bases, R&D centers and sales networks overseas, reduce tariff costs, and improve market response speed. In the future, with the continuous improvement of the core competitiveness of China's LED enterprises, overseas market expansion will usher in greater space.
